and then
she buys a little home
has learned to do so much
on her own
honest
there are good days and bad days
to be happy
so many ways
and when life makes no sense
at the next turn
an important lesson
to learn
like moving on
and letting go
unleash
what life has in store
and then
she stands on her balcony
watching the evening sun
feeling good on her birthday
about all the years to come

A warm uplifting piece, Sobhana, that I can relate to. We can’t wish for anything more than brightness and darkness in the future, everything is impermanent, always changing. I don’t think there is such a thing as constant happiness, without contrast, without variation, because it wouldn’t be happiness any longer. And, I’m imagining it was your birthday, so although it was over a week ago, Happy Birthday.

Thank you, Steve, for such a meaningful response…yes, we need contrast. It was my friend’s bday, she turned 50:-)
